Summary

Optical splitter, also known as optical coupler, is one of the important passive components in fiber optic connections. It is a fiber-optic tandem device with multiple inputs and multiple outputs. The optical splitter can be divided into two types: the molten taper type (LZ) and the plane waveguide type (PLC type) according to the principle of splitting light. However, since the planar waveguide type can only be fabricated into 2 n-th power optical splitters, the FTTH cannot be satisfied.
